|What is KOLO?|
KOLO is the traditional dance of Serbian people, with many local varieties.
KOLO is the folk dance in which dancers, both male and female, join hands to form a magic circle that moves, breathes, and lives with music.
This is the reason why we have chosen KOLO as the name for the non-profit, non-denominational Serbian Cultural Society in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
KOLO Serbian Cultural Society aims to preserve and promote cultural heritage and traditions of Serbian people through understanding, acceptance, and interaction between people of diverse nationalities. To symbolize this, the logo of the Society includes both Canadian and Serbian symbols: the red maple leaf of Canada and three colors of the Serbian flag.
